So, I was watching this movie in my creative writing English class called Little Miss Sunshine. I’m going to give you the prologue on Frank who is Olive's uncle. Olive being the main character. So, before they beauty pageant in California at the Redondo Suites, Frank tries to commit suicide. Six months earlier, his now ex-boyfriend had broken up with him because who wasn’t the number one professor in the nation for the year. So, the ex- boyfriend ended up leaving Frank for his nemesis who did win the number one professor in the nation for the year. Frank had also written a book that took him twenty years to write and publish but unfortunately, book sales had hit rock bottom and he lost thousands of dollars and had to put up his house for sale and ended up renting a one-bedroom studio apartment. Then two and a half weeks later, he sees his nemesis in the newspaper promoting his book which had become Rolling Stones #1 bestselling book and Rolling Stones most renowned author and professor. He had later that night seen his ex- boyfriend with his nemesis on My Million Dollar Wedding on tv. From that point on, he became had become overly obsessed with their life and had started to suffer severe depression. about two or three days later, he writes a letter to his family, fills up the bathtub, gets in it fully clothed with a razor in one hand. He utters the words "Dear God", slices his wrists and drops the razor. Luckily, his sister was going to his apartment to visit him and found him in the tub with a very faint pulse. three weeks later he is sitting in a mental hospital talking to no one. He isolates himself while he inside the mental hospital for the next four and a half months until his sister goes to bring him to stay at her and her husband’s house with her two kids, Olive and Dwayne, and her husband’s father.
